Welcome to the Lincoln Lion's Den

The Lion's Den After-School Program is at the Boys & Girls Club of South Corvallis located at Lincoln K-8 School. The program was designed to provide K-5 students at Lincoln School with homework help and a chance to try a variety of academic and enrichment activities, such as computers, music, art, dance, science, and a variety of physical activities.

The Lion's Den program works in partnership with Lincoln School and tries to make the transition from the school day to after-school care as smooth as possible by maintaining the school behavior expectations and classroom rules. We try to maintain a structured environment and group students into classes by grade. Each class is staffed with a lead and assistant teacher, keeping 1-to-10 staff to student ratio. In addition, the structure and schedule of the program was designed for regular attendance to match the school week, and unless students are excused by a parent or guardian, students are expected to attend the after-school program daily (Monday-Friday).

This program operates on full school days. In addition to program fees, an annual Boys & Girls Club membership fee ($25) is due at enrollment, giving students the option of going to the Boys & Girls Club on non-school days.

For the 2010 - 2011 School Year registration for Lions Den will be done in 3 terms, not 2 semesters as in years past. The terms will begin on these dates:

Fall - September 20th, 2010 Winter - January 3rd, 2011 Spring March 28th, 2011

Regular Schedule
2:35pm – Release from school
2:35-3:15 – Meal/break
3:15-4:00 – Homework/reading time
4:00-5:15 – Academic/enrichment clubs
5:15-5:30 – Dismissal

Who Can Register
All K-5 students who are currently enrolled at Lincoln School have the opportunity to apply for the Lion's Den Program. However, please note that your child's acceptance into the program is based not only on a first-come first-served basis, but is also based on attendance and past performance in after-school programs.

There are 100 spots available in this program. Children will be enrolled on a first-come first served basis with priority given to students previously enrolled in the Lion's Den program with good attendance. Additionally, families identified by teachers and school staff will have first consideration. Once full, applicants will be placed on a waiting list. As spaces become available, eligible families will be notified.

How Do I Register My Child
Come to the Lion’s Den office (room 168 at Lincoln School) to register. You can call the Lincoln School main office (757-5955) for fall registration dates and times. After the program starts on September 21st, registration forms can be completed in person during program office hours: 2:00-5:30pm Monday-Friday.

Cost
All students enrolled in the Lion's Den program must be members of the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis, an annual membership is $25.
